Which Minnesotans are most likely to use ride-hailing services?

Minnesotans with higher incomes and those with college degrees are especially likely to have used ride-hailing services like Uber or Lyft.
· 82% of Minnesotans with upper incomes have used a ride-hailing service
· 70% of Minnesotans with a college degree have done this
By contrast, these Minnesotans are the most likely to say they have not used a ride-hailing service:
· 69% of Minnesotans ages 65 or older
· 65% of those with a high school degree or less
· 62% of Greater Minnesota residents
· 59% of those with lower incomes
These findings come from a Minnesota Community Survey of 3,399 adults conducted from July 20 to Nov. 22, 2024.
Most frequent users of ride-sharing services
Minnesotans most likely to have used a ride-hailing service are not necessarily the most frequent users of services like Uber or Lyft.
These groups of Minnesotans are the most likely to have used a ride-hailing service at least once a month:
· 46% of Black Minnesotans
· 38% of those ages 18-29
· 38% of those with lower incomes
Most other groups are far less likely to be frequent users of ride-hailing services. Overall, 22% of Minnesota adults say they use ride-hailing services at least once a month.
