Minnesota sports fans see a sunny future for their teams, though storm clouds have started to settle over one fan base. After a tough end to the 2024 season, Twins fans were more pessimistic than others about the direction of their team.
Nearly all fans of the Vikings (95%), Lynx (94%) and Wild (92%) said their team is headed in the right direction, according to a Minnesota Community Survey of 1,477 adults conducted from Dec. 4, 2024, to Jan. 20, 2025.
Fanbases of United FC (87%), Frost (87%), Aurora FC (84%) and Timberwolves (83%) also said their team is on the right track.
While most Twins fans (66%) said their team is headed in the right direction, a significantly smaller share said this than other fan bases.

Most popular pro sports teams in Minnesota
The Vikings (62%) and Twins (57%) are the most popular pro sports teams in the state, with more than half of Minnesotans identifying as fans of these teams.

Smaller shares of Minnesotans said they’re fans of Major League Soccer’s United FC (19%) and the Minnesota Frost (15%), a women’s pro hockey team.
