Lower income: Under $30,000 annual household income
Lower-middle: Over $30,000 to $70,000
Middle-upper: Over $70,000 to $150,000
Upper income: Over $150,000

Race and ethnicity

White: Single race, non-Hispanic
Black: Single race, non-Hispanic
Hispanic: Can be of any race
Asian: Single race, non-Hispanic

Education

H.S. or less: High school degree and those who did not graduate from H.S.
Some college: Associate degree and college attendees who did not get a degree
College graduate: Bachelor’s degree or higher

Geography

Mpls/StP: Minneapolis or St. Paul
Suburbs: Seven-county Twin Cities area, minus Minneapolis and St. Paul
Greater Minnesota: Minnesota minus the seven-county Twin Cities area

Birthplace

Born in MN: Born in Minnesota
U.S. born, not MN: Born in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico), but not in MN
Immigrant: Born outside of the U.S.

Political party

Republican: Those who identify with the Republican Party, and independents who lean toward the Republican Party.
Democrat: Those who identify with the Democratic Party, and independents who lean toward the Democratic Party.
